Dulces Galvez site
A comprehensive online platform designed for Dulces Galvez, representing a strategic expansion from their established mobile application.
Project Overview
The Problem
The Challenge
I embarked on a mission to address two critical pain points: reducing quitting delays and optimizing the efficiency of time-consuming ordering processes.
The Goal
The primary objective of this project was to seamlessly synchronize our app's progress with the website, enabling users to place orders effortlessly on either platform.
The Product
Dulces Galvez Site: Elevating Small Business Expansion in California, USA project represents the seamless integration of an app expansion for a thriving small business, Dulces Galvez, situated in sunny California. Catering primarily to the delectable cravings of sweet-toothed consumers, this initiative extends their services to include convenient delivery, efficient shipping, and hassle-free pick-up options.
My Role
As a dedicated UX Designer, I took charge of conceiving, designing, and transforming the vision of a responsive site for Dulces Galvez into a compelling reality. My role involved crafting an intuitive and visually appealing user experience, ensuring that every step from concept to implementation aligned seamlessly with the company's goals and user needs.
Responsibilities
Conducting interviews, paper and digital wireframing, low and high-fidelity prototyping, conducting usability studies, accounting for accessibility, and iterating on designs
Project Duration

Understanding the user
I spearheaded an in-depth user research initiative, conducting online interviews and constructing empathy maps to gain profound insights into user needs, frustrations, and emotions. Through this process, I identified a core user group, primarily consisting of tech-savvy young individuals, craving up-to-date menus and demanding a swift, responsive order tracking system.
My interview methodology involved asking individuals about their experiences with order tracking sites, delving into their specific challenges, seeking their perspectives on desired improvements, and gauging their emotional responses. While I initially hypothesized that unresponsiveness might be a major pain point, my research unveiled a more nuanced reality. Users indeed confirmed unresponsiveness as an issue, but I also unearthed additional complexities, including challenges stemming from personal preferences and interests that sometimes hindered their ability to place accurate orders.
User Pain Points
1. Unresponsive
"Unresponsive websites hinder users from efficiently achieving their intended goals, impacting user satisfaction and overall experience.
2. UI
A user-unfriendly UI can lead to diminished user engagement and interest in the platform.
3. Slow ordering process
Prolonged ordering processes can significantly deter users from successfully accomplishing their goals.
Persona and problem statement

Starting the design
Paper wireframes
Dedicating time to meticulously sketch each screen's design on paper was a strategic step to ensure that the elements incorporated into the digital wireframe precisely addressed user pain points. My focus was on optimizing the homepage for swift and intuitive navigation, aligning with the priority of delivering a seamless and user-friendly experience.
Stars were used to mark the elements of each sketch that would be used in digital wireframes
Digital wireframes
As the initial design phase continued, I made sure to base the screen designs on feedback from the user research
Usability study findings
"In anticipation of usability testing, I diligently crafted a low-fidelity prototype, available for review at the following link: [Link]. Utilizing this prototype as a foundational tool, I orchestrated an unmoderated usability study, engaging with a cohort of 5 participants. Below, I present the key findings that emerged from this study:"
Imagery
Users want pictures added to site
2. Color
Users would like to see more color
3. UI
Users want an easier UI
Mock ups
The absence of imagery on the Home Page was identified as a potential deterrent for consumers. As part of the enhancement efforts, a strategic inclusion of compelling imagery and color elements was implemented to enhance visual appeal and engagement.
Previously, the store lacked any visual imagery or color scheme. To invigorate the store's ambiance and enhance its visibility amid the array of available products, I introduced carefully curated imagery and a thoughtfully crafted color palette.
Accessibility considerations
Color
The selection of the color palette was a deliberate process, taking into careful consideration the company's primary brand colors and prioritizing accessibility standards.
2. Search
The search functionality empowers users with the capability to effortlessly explore and find content or information across the entire site.
3. Contact Page
We've implemented a Contact Page feature, enabling seamless user-company communication for a wide range of inquiries and concerns.
Redefined designs
High-Fidelity protoype
The high-fidelity design exhibits refined user flows for ordering through Dulces Galvez and completing the checkout process, effectively meeting user requirements, including the provision of a convenient pick-up option.

Going Forward
Takeaways
Impact
The website engendered a profound sense of user engagement, affirming that their feedback was not only acknowledged but actively integrated into the platform. Consequently, users lauded the platform as one of the most user-friendly ordering applications they had encountered in a considerable span of time.
What i learned
While immersed in the development of the Dulces Galvez website, I gleaned a valuable insight: early designs serve as the foundation for a more expansive vision. The iterative refinement process, guided by usability studies and user feedback, profoundly influenced the evolution and enhancements of the site.
Next steps
1.I remain committed to ongoing site development, aiming to deliver a fully functional and optimized platform.
2.Deploy it to the Dulces Galvez customer base.
3.Maintaining real-time updates as each day progresses.
